Marathon Party

I threw P a marathon party at my apartment a couple weeks ago.  It was a smashing success!

P had imposed on himself an abstinence period for over a month before the marathon.   I was so ecstatic that he could drink again that I spent hours and hours making a themed cocktail menu for the party.
As you can see, it's very simple.  The actual making of the menus weren't time-consuming, but thinking of all the drink names and descriptions were!  (Email me or post a comment if you want the actual recipe.)

I also made my own tonic!  Gin & tonics, oh baby!  It took a lot of hunting and gathering for the ingredients (see below picture), but nothing compared to the EIGHT HOURS I spent straining all the cinchona bark power out of the liquid.  It was worth it, though.  The homemade tonic was more refreshingly fruity and much less chemically sweet than bottled tonics.
It was a hit at the party, as were ALL of the cocktails.  I played bartender in the kitchen all night long, and I'm glad P had a great time.  We throw awesome parties, no joke.  The inner Martha Stewart in me is doing a little jig.
