I Didn't Get You a Real Necktie, But...

...Here is a miniature ribbon one!

I made this card for my dad for his birthday last year. By that time, I had amassed a big plastic bag full of spools of ribbons. There was one that was particularly tie-like.

I love this design because it is very modern and clean and crisp. I also really like the color combination. I called my dad on the day of and demanded to know if he received my card since I hadn't heard from him. In talking to him, I found out that he didn't even realize that I made the card myself! Whoopee! Even after I told him I hand made the card, he didn't believe it when I told him I made the tie with a piece of ribbon; he thought I had bought a tie sticker and just stuck it on.

I take that as a compliment!
