Good Luck Owls

I had gotten a new set of owl stamps and was dying to use them. For some reason, I think owls are good luck, and two people needed it in July last year. Adam was taking the California bar exam, and my brother was taking Step 2 of the medical board exam.

I had this great idea in my head: I had a damask stamp that I thought would be perfect for making a wallpaper-like background with. I wanted to make the background light yellow on white cardstock, since I wanted to make a subtly textured background, but I didn't have yellow ink. I made do with orange instead, but it came out to be way too... orange!

The opposite of subtle, I'm afraid. It kind of overwhelms the owls, which are so cute. You can see the owls more clearly if you click on the picture to enlarge it.

I do still like the idea, though, perhaps in a lighter color like I had originally planned next time.
