It seems that more and more people have "work wives" and "work husbands" at... well, at work? The relationship isn't based on romance or sex - it's more of a pairing up with someone at work who happens to be of the opposite sex who you go to for all work-related vents, someone you feel like you can count on, someone who understands exactly what is going on.
Well, one of my friends at work who I've gotten much closer to these couple of years calls me his work wife, so I suppose it follows that he is my work husband. (It's all very jokey-jokey, as he is happily married for real.)
He loves golf and isn't able to get in a round too often here in New York, so I made a special golf card for his birthday last year. My crowning achievement is the birthday candle as a flag pole!

I snuck into his office early in the morning the day of, and built a three-story donut and strawberry marshmallow tower for him on his desk, complete with a cute flag with a picture of a Great Dane (inside joke) on top. He loved it.
He's seen the good, the bad and the ugly, and he is still supportive of me. I'm very grateful for friends like him.
Love the candle/flag pole idea- SUPER cute!! (happy to see you posting again ;-) )
