Goldfish Kisses

My friend Angela (the one who moved to Brussels) got married this past week to her long-time boyfriend, Alex. The marriage/wedding was a long time in the making, spanning a decade and covering three continents. I was really happy to be invited to join in the celebrations.

I made this card with the same giant fishbowl stamp I used for Alex's birthday card. The little eyes are little black beads in a clear dome. I realize this makes me sound all of five years old, but it's so much fun watching the eyes roll around! I used red glitter glue for the puckers.
Angela says that she regrets her decision to move to Brussels, I think mostly because she finds French difficult to learn. Not knowing the language makes finding friends and even functioning on a basic, day-to-day basis so much harder. She is making initial preparations to find a job and move to London, where her (new!) husband teaches.

Even though the Brussels experiment was a "failure" (quotes because nothing in life is a failure - we always learn something!), I still admire Angela (perhaps all the more so!) because it was a very ballsy move. At the very least, I tell her, it was an interesting ride!
