I traced around a mug and cut out a big pale yellow circle for the moon. To soften the colors and make it more "dusky", I pasted paper vellum over it. I then punched out dozens of little white doves and painstakingly glued them on one by one.Although I'm not exactly a paper vellum virgin, I forgot - or maybe simply disregarded, thinking it would turn out right somehow - the fact that it would wrinkle up if I glued things to it. It didn't scrunch up immediately, so I thought everything was peachy and pranced around the apartment crowing with pride, but the next morning, a palm slap to the forehead was in order. Ah, well - lesson learned!
