Paradise Bites

Despite being slammed at work in the past couple of weeks, my long-hibernating culinary skills (not that I have any, it's actually a culinary "desire" or a culinary "aspiration" at best, really) seems to have yawned and stretched and rubbed the sleep from its blinking eyes. I decided I needed inspiration to get it to actually roll out of bed, and the best inspiration would be... in the form of a new apron!

I received the package in the mail this week, and I must say, it was like my birthday and Halloween and Christmas all rolled into one, I was so excited! The seller (from etsy) had handmade it and packaged it with a layer of baby pink tissue paper tied with a darker pink satin ribbon. Even the most banal items, like... hmm... pot-holders?... are delightful if handmade, yes?

The actual product is even brighter and more cheerful than the picture. I gladly - and with a tinge of viciousness - demoted the two aprons I have been making do with for many years: one is white with a huuuuuuge logo of my former company splashed across the chest, and the other is a luxurious, dark red, 100% polyester indulgence.

I stuffed both down the garbage chute.
