I'm not sure how my card obssession started, but I suspect it was courtesy of wedding planning. I had gotten engaged in May of 2008, but didn't begin planning until towards the end of the year. Once I began following wedding-related blogs, though, a monster was born! I would spend hours of my free time drooling over unique stamps or paper punches and doodling design ideas on a piece of scrap paper.
And so, without further ado, here is the first card I ever made:
I was OBSSESSED with this tree branch stamp from Impress Rubber Stamps for the longest time. I waited and waited until they had a sale, and then I pounced! This card isn't my favorite card, though, in large part because I had only bought sky blue and cream colored cardstock at that point, and I don't think the color combination was a success.
The flowers were supposed to resemble cherry blossoms, but I think, in my zeal to spice things up, I messed it up with putting red flowers in the mix. All light pink would have been closer to cherry blossoms:
I gave this card to my fiance's brother's girlfriend (get that?) at the time, Lauren. Lauren had very generously provided us with her own bed to sleep in when we came in from out of town to attend Adam's brother's medical school graduation. So I gave her my firstborn. LOL!
